Medli and Koroks - Colored

Does anyone remember this? I finally got around to coloring the lineart from March 2007. I never did finish the shading in ink, but hopefully it's not too noticeable.

Just like I had wanted to do back then, I painted this in watercolors (and watercolor pencils). I was actually planning on painting a transferred version of this drawing over to watercolor paper, but...I didn't. So I painted on the sketch paper It wasn't as warped as I expected and a night in/underneath Ivaliny's science text books smoothed it out a bit.

Not crazy about the background, but I'm satisfied with it. I don't feel like I'm getting enough contrast in the shading using watercolor/watercolor pencils. Definitely something I'll need to work on.

Painted with Prisma Watercolor Pencils and Thomas Kinkade Watercolors (yes, he has his own brand of watercolor paints )
This took me 8 hours to paint, though I was distracted by Cartoon Network almost the entire time.
