Ode to Momoo

Description

Because you just don't see drawings of him floating around. Why not, people? He's absolutely adorable!

I just got this month's Shonen Jump magazine, and there was so much Momoo and Hachi! Yay! I decided to draw Momoo because we castrated some bulls in my Horticulture class (yes, plants and cattle, practically the same, I know  ). I just felt like drawing something sort of as a tribute to the poor happy bulls about to become very unhappy (when teaching freshmen about the different names of livestock, such as steers and bulls, my Ag. teacher, Mr. Rogers, uses happy and sad faces to describe if they can reproduce or not). Also, I was kind of sick of seeing President Kennedy's head explode about every 3 minutes in my U.S. History class.

If anybody cares about my wonderful experience of working cattle, by all means, keep reading.

First off, this wasn't the first time I've had to do it, so I'm "experienced" in a way. Yay me. There were six of them, can't remember how old they were, and we had to vaccinate, de-worm, de-horn, and castrate all of them, since they had never been worked before (keep that in mind). So the all the vaccination and de-worming shots went fairly smoothly. It's time to de-horn. The very first one, we (we as in, the teacher, Mr. Collins) cut too deep into the skull and hit several arties. Fountains of blood just started spurting in practically every direction. And, convenient enough for me, I had my mouth open at the moment. I was tasting blood until I got home from school and brushed my teeth. Yum. So, it took a heck of a lot of iodine and clotting powder (an entire bottle, actually) to get that wound to slow down a bit. When it was walking out the the holding pen after it was finished with, it slipped in it's own blood and couldn't get up because it was too weak. Also, it looked like something took a big chomp out of the top of its head. The others didn't have any horns, so they were spared.

Then comes the castrating. This was pretty interesting. The first bull (the one with a chunk of skull missing) was normal enough, the castrating went fine. Then the next one only had one testicle, which is pretty strange, but I guess that happens every now and then. Then, the next one, normal. The one after that, one testicle. Then, after that, the last two didn't have any balls at all! All the Ag. guys and even the teacher, who had been doing this for years, were completely stumped. They had never seen anything like this. Remember, they had never been worked before, so it's not like someone beat us to castrating them. I don't know, I thought it was weird. You people are probably thinking "Oh god, she was feeling up some cow's balls!" No, I wasn't. And don't deny you're thinking that, I know who you are!

Anyways, after much more information than you wanted to know, my description comes to a close.....Bask in the glory of Momoo!!
